2008 ACEC Engineering Excellence Award
At the 2008 Annual Engineering Excellence Awards Banquet, The Schneider Corporation received an ACEC Merit Award. Schneider was contracted by Vigo County and the City of Terre Haute to provide geospatial information system (GIS) services that would be beneficial for both Vigo County and Terre Haute by helping local governments to save money and better utilize resources.

To create the GIS, Schneider used the combination of GIS technology, digital orthophotography and LiDAR. The first step was to develop an accurate rendition of Vigo County and the elevation of the land. This rendition was then used as the anchor to place the land ownership and utility information from the thousands of documents including tax roll data, old paper maps, as-builts and deeds.

2006 - Mira "Innovation of the Year" Award
Schneider's draincalc™ was nominated for the 2006 Mira "Innovation of the Year" Award. The Mira Awards recognize and honor companies who have risen to the top of their class for their performance, innovation, and contribution to technology-related industries. The draincalc application ties directly into existing tax, assessment, and GIS (intelligent, spatially-related map information) databases to automate the process and allow local governments to create a more accurate and equitable assessment.

2006 - ACEC Honor Award
At the 18th Annual Engineering Excellence Awards Banquet, The Schneider Corporation received an ACEC Honor Award. By integrating GPS, conventional surveying and GIS technologies to simplify utility-locate processes, The Schneider Corporation developed a better way to streamline methodologies, increase productivity and reduce costs for Hamilton Southeastern Utilities (HSE) and its engineering management company, Sanitary Management & Engineering Company (SAMCO).

2005 - ESRI Special Achievement in GIS Award
At the 2005 International ESRI User’s Conference in San Diego, California, The Schneider Corporation had two clients receive recognition for their GIS.

  • Hamilton Southeastern Utilities and Sanitary Management and Engineering Company (HSE/SAMCO), Fishers, Indiana - Awarded for embracing GIS technology early in their life cycle, HSE/SAMCO made extraordinary contributions to not only their own success, but to the entire community as well. They continue to set new precedents by continually expanding the integration of GIS technology into every aspect of their organization.
  • Sarpy County, Nebraska - Sarpy County is the primary database repository and administrative site for County-wide GIS data. The GIS department maintains and updates digital data layers such as parcels, zoning, political boundaries, and street centerlines with The Schneider Corporation’s geogear product.

2005 - Indiana Geographic Information Council Award
The Indiana Geographic Information Council awarded four Schneider clients at the annual GIS conference for their excellence in GIS based on their community size and affiliation. Wells County, Indiana won for County government, City of South Bend, Indiana received the award for Large Community, INDOT was awarded for State government and Eli Lilly, a local pharmaceutical company, was awarded for GIS use in the private sector.

2004 & 2000 - Association of Indiana Counties
Blackford County, Indiana, was awarded the County Achievement Award in 2004 from the Association of Indiana Counties (AIC). The award is given annually in recognition of creative leadership demonstrated by county government officials. Blackford County is one of the smallest counties in Indiana and was selected to receive the award for its creative effort to study, develop, initiate and fund the county GIS for a community of its size. In 2000, Huntington County, Indiana, a continuing partner of The Schneider Corporation, was awarded the County Achievement Award.

2003 - Indiana Geographic Information Council Award
The Indiana Geographic Information Council awarded the City of Indianapolis Department of Public Works its annual award to a large city in recognition of its creative and practical application of a geographic information system through its development of an impervious surface database that automatically assesses a fair use rate for storm water on commercial and industrial properties. The revenue generated from the application is applied towards the cost of improving the storm sewer system throughout Marion County. The Schneider Corporation provided the GIS services associated with the City of Indianapolis' project.

2002 - Indiana Geographic Information Council Award
The Indiana Geographic Information Council awarded the Town of Cumberland, Indiana with its annual award to small communities in recognition of its creative and practical application of a GIS through its development of a series of Internet-based maps depicting aerial photography, land ownership, land use, parcels, and utilities. The Schneider Corporation provided the programming services associated with the Town of Cumberland’s web site.

2001 - ESRI Foundation Partner
In 2001, The Schneider Corporation was named Foundation Partner of the year by ESRI for its hard work and dedication to consistently building strong and dependable relationships with ESRI and its clients.
